Adding products to the website

This article describes how to add products to existing website based on WordPress and Outrix Feed plugin. Please see Installing WordPress and Installing Outrix Feed plugin for how-tos on installation.

To add products to the website, log in to Outrix Partners’ section and find link to the appropriate feed for the channel of your selection:

• Log in using your username and password.
• Switch to ‘Channels’ tab.
• Select channel. Popup window will appear with links to various RSS feeds.

To upload information to the website switch to ‘Outrix Feed’ tab in WordPress admin panel. In the ‘Feed URL’ field please enter the link of RSS Feed of your choice. For instance, http://www.lacombo.com/xml/channelname.rss.

Click ‘Syndicate’ button. Plugin will process RSS feed and add all the products information to your website. Upon completion of processing, you’ll be able to see the report about added information.

If ‘Publish new posts’ flag has been set, the added information is published on the website instantly. If not, all the information is stored in WordPress drafts, and you’ll be able to view, edit and publish this information later.

To renew product information, use ‘Syndicate’ button in ‘Outrix Feed’ tab in WordPress admin panel. You can also setup automatic renewal of content in a given time period (Autoupdate period).

Attention! To display additional information (images, screenshots, purchase and download URLs, system requirements) on product, you’ll need to slightly tweak WordPress theme. See next article to learn what needs to be done and meanwhile you can review demo websites based on WordPress:
